Look, mom, my first blog post!

Well, I guess I've come a long way in recent days as I've not only purchased a cell phone (unlisted number) but now find myself creating a blog!? Next thing you know, I'll be filming home movies--just kidding. The very idea would make my neo-Luddite husband break out in hives. This blogging idea comes from our friends Teresa and Pepper, who have used it to keep all their fans informed of the development of their bambino-to-be and now that Lance and I are fast approaching our due date, we're jumping on the bandwagon too.

So for all of you keeping score at home, I'm in the midst of week 38 (out of a possible 40) of my pregnancy. Due date (d-day) is none other than Christmas Day! Of course, babies are known to keep their own calendar, so there's a good chance we'll be meeting this little one in 2006. The cash prize associated with having the very first baby of the new year would offset the loss of 2005 tax savings quite nicely!
